The COVID Booster Vaccination will be the “new” Moderna bivalent vaccine for those 18 years of age and older. The Bivalent vaccine is designed to better protect against both the original strain and the BA4 and BA5 Omicron subvariants. It is authorized for use as a single booster dose at least two months following the primary series or a previous booster dose. People can stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccination by completing a primary series and receiving the most recent booster dose recommended for them by the CDC. Booster doses can be “Mixed and Matched” meaning a different vaccine manufacturer used the primary series and the booster dose. We will not be offering the Pfizer bivalent COVID booster vaccination at our drive-thru clinics at this time.
Everyone ages 12 years and older are recommended to receive 1 age-appropriate bivalent mRNA booster dose. To vaccinate your child ages 12-18 years of age or those adults who prefer the Pfizer Vaccination for COVID booster, please call our office at 605-285-6419 to schedule an appt. If you need your primary series of COVID vaccination, please contact the Public Health Office at 605-285-6419 to schedule. We ask that you fill out your vaccination form(s) prior to arriving. These forms can be found at Bowdle Healthcare Center’s website at www.bowdlehc.com or at the Bowdle, Roscoe, Hosmer and Hoven Post Office, and Turner Drug in Bowdle On the days and times of the influenza vaccination clinic, you will drive up with your completed vaccination form. You will be given the vaccination and we will ask that you park your vehicle for 15 minutes so we can monitor you for any adverse reactions to the vaccine. If you have special vaccination needs, such as preservative-free vaccinations or egg free, please call ahead so this can be arranged.
