Travis Preszler is the newest P.A. at Bowdle Healthcare Center. He and his family moved to Bowdle in December of 2018 from Wyoming.
Preszler shared, “It was just a dream to come back someday.” His wife, Stacy, is the daughter of Don and Bea Thomas of Bowdle. He is the son of Harry and Sylvia Preszler and graduated from Hosmer in 1987. “We have gone from seeing family one to two times per year to one to two times per day,” he shared as they were working on moving into their new home.
In addition to being close to family, Preszler feels like his general family care practice here in Bowdle will have some diversity with his responsibilities, including taking calls in the Emergency Room. His particular interests include Oncology, Internal Medicine, and Dermatology.
Preszler went to South Dakota State University for his Bachelor’s Degree. He worked in Aberdeen for one year and then moved to Havre, MT. He obtained his P.A. degree at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT. In 2001, he moved to Cody, WY, where he spent six years working in orthopedic surgery.
Most recently, he spent 16 years in Sheridan, WY, where he worked at various offices including Oncology, Internal Medicine and Urgent Care. For the last six years, he has worked at Sheridan, VA. He was the primary care provider for just under 1,000 patients.
Travis and Stacy have two children – Sienna, 16, who is a sophomore and Noah, 13, who is a 7th grader. Stacy, who was the Director of Religious Education in Sheridan, is quite happy to start her full-time position at home as a homemaker.
In his spare time, Travis is a home brewer and is very excited to create room in his house just for that purpose. In the past, he has brewed up to 110 gallons in one year. He also enjoys hunting and fishing. He shared that 90% of the birds in Wyoming are farm-raised, so he is looking forward to hunting wild birds again. When the weather turns warm, you will probably hear him rumble by on his Harley.
